Dr. Janelle Peters is a scholar of the history and modern reception of the ancient Mediterranean and Near East. Her forthcoming book, Paul and the Citizen Body, is expected to be released in 2021. Her work has focused on Second Temple Judaism, early Christianity, and the Hellenistic and Roman Greek East, including Biblica, Neotestamentica, Journal of Early Christian History, Open Theology, Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha, and Postscripts.
Her writing also appears in America, The Atlantic, Bust, Busted Halo, Paste, Washington Post, Religion & Politics, and other national media. She has written for TED-Ed. She has taught at several universities and schools. She has also served with AmeriCorps and the American Red Cross. Additionally, She taught citizenship and ESL classes at Boat People, S.O.S.
