Dr. Matthew Kuan Johnson works at the intersection of philosophy, cognitive science, and theology on topics related to moral perception, character formation, joy, and AI ethics. Matthew earned his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, and also holds a BA in Cognitive Science from Yale University and an MPhil in Social Psychology from Cambridge. He is currently a Research Fellow in the Theology and Religion Department at the University of Oxford and an Associate Member of the Philosophy Department, working on the Virtues and Vocations Initiative at the Oxford Character Project.
